A Special Note Regarding ALCL

This week the FDA released a statement regarding a possible link between a very rare type of cancer (Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma) and breast implants. ALCL is typically associated with the use of certain types of textured implants and has occurred in less than 0.1% of patients that have breast implants. The majority of the breast implants used at the Centre for Plastic Surgery are NOT the type of implants associated with this type of cancer.
