Facelift FAQs

Will my face looked pulled tight?

Facelift procedures have improved significantly since the old procedures that left patients looking like their faces were being pulled back. Modern facelift procedures lift and reposition the facial features in a much more natural looking way.

How long will my facelift last?

Your facelift will not halt the aging process, so you will continue to age at a normal rate. The facelift, however, will serve to 'restart' the process, so your appearance will always be more youthful with the facelift than it would have been without it.

Will I have scars after my facelift?

In most facelifts, the incisions are made behind the hairline and in front of the natural ear. In some, an incision is also made under the chin. The scars are largely obscured, and are usually quite small.

What are the risks?

Most of the risks of facelifts are general risks associated with any surgical procedure.

Risks specific to facelift surgery include the potential for nerve damage, which can result in numbness and weakness of the facial muscles. This risk of delayed healing is relatively minor, but it is increased in patients who smoke.
